Chris Jones and Catherine Jones

Chris and Catherine are the cofounders and creative spark for Kind to Kids. While at a Delaware sports event, they saw large groups of empty seats around the stadium. They said there were many underprivileged children who would love to be in those seats and wanted to know, "Why can't they give the tickets to kids in need?" It was a pivotal question. After doing some research, we determined that there were organizations around the country that successfully donate tickets to children. We decided to help underprivileged children right here in our own state of Delaware, and Kind to Kids was started. From creation of the logo to program implementation, Chris and Catherine are key participants in planning the Kind to Kids organization. As high school students, they are actively engaging the youth of our community to help children in need.

Delaware Community Foundation

Kind to Kids is a nonprofit fund managed by the Delaware Community Foundation. We are fortunate to benefit from the professional and financial expertise of the community leaders that comprise the Foundation. Established in 1986, the Delaware Community Foundation professionally manages 500 charitable funds, with assets of approximately $230 million. These funds are administered according to the wishes of the donors to meet specific humanitarian, educational, and cultural community needs. The Foundation's motto is, "Connecting people who care with causes that matter."

Volunteers

We would not be able to do all that we can without the valuable work of our volunteers. Whether it is educating the community about our organization, leading a fundraising campaign, or supporting a children's event, volunteers are working together to impact the lives of children in need. The generous efforts of our volunteers allow Kind to Kids to provide joyful experiences for underprivileged children with extremely low overhead costs.
